The Eleventh Of September

We mourn their loss this day this year
Those now with God, no danger near
So many loved ones left do stand
Confronting loss throughout our land
My heart goes out to those who do
No one can fathom what they view
I firmly pray for peace of mind
Dear God please help each one to find
And to our soldiers now at war
God guide above, at sea, on shore
They are the best, I have no doubt
Our country’s pride, complete, devout
The finest force you’ll ever see
All freedom grown through liberty
One final thought comes clear to me
For what must live in infamy
Absolutely - We’ll Remember
The Eleventh - Of September

September 11 is my father's birthday. I just got off the phone with him to wish him a happy birthday before he went to work and then I saw it on the TV. We lived close, right across the bay in New Jersey. Everyone in our town worked up there. My brother-in-law is an elevator repairman. My real estate agent's husband, Lou Minervino died in those towers. This may sound cliche but the Minervinos were the nicest family. For weeks after, we could smell the smoke.

I wish we'd get out of the oil business in Iraq and focus on getting Bin Laden in Afghanistan.

A day to remember.

Debi- that must be so hard for your father to have his birthday on Sept 11. Makes it hard to celebrate.

That is horrible about Lou Minervino. I could not imagine having to go through what his family has gone through. What an awful thing.

I always make sure I mention Lou's name when talking about it. We have to remember there were real people killed.

My father is a nut. He says no one will forget his birthday now, lol.

Debi- keep it up! I would mention Lou every possible opportunity. It's good to keep him in everyone's memory and pray for his family. I know I won't forget your story.
